Your Ledger device puts you in control of your digital assets. Unlike an online account, a hardware wallet keeps your private keys offline, away from internet threats. Ledger.com/start is your safe first stop: check that your device is genuine, download Ledger Live from Ledger’s official website, and follow the on-screen instructions carefully at your own pace.
Start by unboxing your device and connecting it to a trusted computer or phone. Ledger Live will guide you through initializing a new device or restoring an existing wallet. Choose a PIN you can remember, then write your 24-word recovery phrase on paper and store it somewhere private and secure. Never photograph it, type it into a website, or share it with anyone—not even someone claiming to be Ledger Support.
Your recovery phrase is the master key to your wallet. Anyone who sees it can access your assets while Ledger cannot recover it for you. Take time to verify every word on your device, install only the apps you need, and confirm transaction details on the device screen before approving.
